Claude Cowork

Set Up a Claude Newsletter Digest

Claude reads the newsletters in your inbox every morning and emails you a summary before you have had coffee, so you can choose which ones are actually worth opening.

Back to resources

This is a small Claude Cowork workflow that saves you from opening every newsletter just to decide whether it matters.

Instead of manually scanning your inbox, Claude checks for newsletters, summarises them and sends you one digest.

What It Does

Every weekday morning, Claude looks for newsletters in your inbox and emails you a summary.

That way, you can skim one digest first and only open the newsletters that are actually relevant.

Set It Up In Claude Cowork

Open Claude Cowork.

Before you schedule it, make sure Claude has access to Gmail. You need the Gmail plugin or the Gmail Chrome browser extension set up so Cowork can read your inbox and run the task on its own.

Start a new task.

In the chat, type:

/schedule

Then describe what you want Claude to do and when you want it to happen.

The Prompt To Use

Paste this into the scheduled task:

Summarize any unopened newsletters in my inbox and email me a digest at 8am every weekday.

You can make this more specific if you want. For example, ask Claude to prioritise newsletters from certain senders, include links, or group the digest by topic.

Confirm The Details

Claude may ask a couple of follow-up questions before it schedules the task.

Answer those questions, check the timing and make sure the digest is going to the right email address.

Then click Schedule.

Important Note

This task only runs if your computer is awake and the Claude app is open.

It will not run in the background if everything is closed, so do not treat it like a fully cloud-hosted automation.

Think of it as a scheduled assistant inside your working environment.

Final Thought

The point is not to read less. The point is to make better decisions about what is worth your attention.
